01 Financial Statements

This session covers the basics of financial statements for business owners and managers. participants will cover the balance sheet, which shows assets and liabilities, and how they impact the P&L statement and cash flow. We'll discuss revenue, cost of sales, gross profit, overheads, and EBITDA, and how they measure profitability. Participants cover the importance of positive cash flow and a diversified client base. By the end of this session, you'll have a better understanding of financial statements and cash flow for business success.

02 Sales to Revenue and Cost Recognition

In this session, participants will explore sales-to-revenue finance processes, providing a comprehensive overview of the key steps involved in converting sales into revenue. Participants will gain valuable insights and practical tools to enhance their skills and improve the overall effectiveness of the sales-to-revenue finance process.

03 Financial Planning & Reporting

During this session, participants will delve into The Sacred 5, a framework for planning and reporting. The objective is to examine how the framework can be effectively implemented and to identify any challenges that may arise. By the end of the session, participants will gain insight into the level of alignment their own organizations have with the Sacred 5, as well as potential obstacles they may face if they choose to adopt more of the framework.

04 Unit Economics and Growth Metrics

This session will help participants to understand various types of growth metrics (such as Annual Recurring Revenue growth %, Net Revenue Retention, Rule of 40, Net Magic Number and ARR per employee) and key measures of unit economics (LTV/CAC, CAC Payback and contribution margin), why unit economics is important and cost categories.

05 Valuations from a Financial Perspective

This session will provide participants with an understanding of business valuations, including general approaches and four specific methods for valuing early-stage businesses. The importance of considering other factors, such as the political and economic environment, will also be explored. Through interactive discussions and exercises, attendees will gain valuable insights into the subjective nature of valuations.

06 After Action Review
